Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best

61. 8MM (1999)

Columbia Pictures

Joel Schumacher's 8MM sees Cage take a deep plunge into the lurid world of snuff films, and with a cast also including Joaquin Phoenix, James Gandolfini, and Peter Stormare, there's certainly plenty to be excited about.

While its self-conscious grimness becomes wearisome over 123 soul-draining minutes, it's also perhaps the most underrated film in Cage's entire filmography, daring to go to depraved places and linger there long enough to imprint on the viewer's psyche.

Don't watch it if you're feeling depressed, though, for God's sake.

60. Army Of One (2016)

Anchor Bay Entertainment

A comedy starring Cage as a delusional man who believes he was sent by God to capture Osama Bin Laden, Army of One is already outlandish enough before you pair Cage with Russell Brand and director Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Borat).

Though it doesn't deliver nearly enough on its gonzo premise, Cage rouses a number of honest-to-God laughs, and elevates the film considerably with his well-wrought performance.

With a few re-drafts, this could've been genuinely good.
