RottenTomatoes Score: 76% (6.8/10 average) Box Office: Though made on a relatively low budget, the movie's limited release in the U.S. saw it gross merely $5,000, and even strong VOD sales will likely make it a commercial bust, which given the dark subject matter isn't too surprising. Ryan Reynolds turns in one of his finest performances here as a mentally ill man being persuaded by his cat to become a serial killer, all while his dog tries to advise him against it. In addition to playing the protagonist, Reynolds voices the two animals among other characters, in what is a delightfully dark, risky project with a truly strange choice for director in Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis). Pretty much destined to become a grimly funny cult classic over the years, the movie more than makes up for its meager box office showing with a boatload of inventiveness, even if Lionsgate might not agree.
