Box Office: Marvel's $200 million "gamble" lived up to the insane pre-release tracking, scoring $370.5 million worldwide in its opening weekend. That's more than half Justice League's entire box office take, folks.
The big question now is whether or not the film's momentum can push it past the coveted $1 billion mark, which with its incredible performance so far, is looking pretty damn likely (if not within spitting distance of it).
Verdict: One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most appealing offerings to date, Black Panther makes the most of its exotic setting, tenacious villain and fantastic cast to deliver an action-packed, thoughtful blockbuster that shakes loose many of the franchise's most complained-about elements.
The CGI could be better in parts, but for the majority it's a real breath of fresh air for the MCU.
