Ranking February 2019's Movies From Worst To Best

A surprisingly decent February.

Despite February having an historic reputation for serving as a "dumping ground" for awful movies the studio has no confidence in - alongside awards season stragglers, of course - the past month delivered not a single genuinely terrible film. Imagine that.

Not everything was great, sure, but of the month's major releases, only a single one was Rotten with critics, while the majority turned out good if not great.

Though it's fair to say that not every film quite measured up to expectations, the art-house field turned in some especially strong results, while Netflix bolstered themselves yet again as a fitting home for bold, low-key cinema, and most of February's blockbusters landed about where you'd expect.

So, what does March have in store, then? Brace yourself for Captain Marvel, What Men Want, Jordan Peele's new horror film Us, sci-fi thriller Captive State, and of course, Dumbo. And so, blockbuster season well and truly begins...
