Verdict: Rebel Wilson has waited far too long for her own sturdy starring movie, and it's finally here.

Though not particularly ambitious, this fun send-up of rom-com genre tropes does just enough to differentiate itself from more typical entries, even if it could've done far more to veer away from the genre's trappings.

Wilson is a charming lead and the supporting cast delivers, even if it's a pretty soft-edged satire and probably could've been funnier with a less family-friendly audience rating.

With its streaming release outside of the U.S., though, it's perfect for undemanding viewing on a cosy night in.
