Ranking January 2019's Movies From Worst To Best

We're already a month into 2019, and true to form, January was a wildly mixed bag for film fans.

On one hand there were countless acclaimed awards stragglers to catch up with, but on the other, studios took full advantage of the so-called "dump period" to release a number of films they clearly had no confidence in whatsoever.

After ending their 2018 on a strong note, Netflix meanwhile unleashed a number of straight genre offerings upon streaming audiences throughout January, but unfortunately the vast majority ranged from bad to barely mediocre. Shame.

Still, for discerning audiences willing to venture outside of the mainstream, there were some enticing movies released during January, even if not everything quite lived up to the hype.

As for what February holds? Gear up for Alita: Battle Angel, The Lego Movie 2, Happy Death Day 2U, The Kid Who Would Be King, Cold Pursuit, Fighting with My Family and so, so much more. But before then, here's what hit and flopped during the past month...
