Verdict: A major credit to Netflix's increasing catalogue of Sundance indies, The Incredible Jessica James just might be a star-maker for lead Jessica Williams, whose infectiously charming central performance combines with James C. Strouse's stylish direction to make this a zippy yet insightful yarn.

Unlike so many festival hits about millennial artists dealing with life's struggles, there's a self-awareness here that makes it feel decidedly less like "first world problems", and above all else it always feels totally honest.
