Box Office: Despite the presence of WWE mega-star John Cena, the low-budget $3 million psychological thriller has only just clawed back its price tag. Its small scale and short run-time will almost certainly do much better on home video, though.

Verdict: A refreshingly stripped down genre exercise for director Doug Liman, The Wall may not be especially big or clever, but it benefits hugely from Liman's taut direction and a killer lead performance by the ever-reliable Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

The ending won't please everyone and it lacks the nuance of something like Buried, but as a ruthlessly efficient thriller, it certainly does the job.
