Ranking March 2015’s Movies From Worst To Best

By Jack Pooley /

1. It Follows

RottenTomatoes Score: 95% (8.2/10 average) Box Office: It Follows cost just $2 million to make, and despite its limited roll-out and minimalist style, has already made $2.1 million worldwide. With an expansion to 1200 cinemas this weekend (and a delayed VOD release due to the strong theatrical numbers), expect it to be a significant financial success when it's all said and done. The Verdict: David Robert Mitchell's (The Myth of the American Sleepover) second feature is a major step up, a supremely stylish, atmospheric and anxiety-ridden horror film about a curse passed on through sexual intercourse. Maika Monroe is Jay, the girl at the center of the predicament, reaffirming her growing stature as a scream queen here with a gripping central performance in a movie which bleeds every ounce of tension out if its delicious scenario. Cinematography is gorgeous throughout, and the John Carpenter-esque score from Disasterpeace helps evoke an agreeable 80s vibe. Not to be missed for those after a unique and disquieting horror flick which doesn't rely on overt gore. What were your favourite movies from March? Which movies did you hate?
