Box Office: At the time of press, Ava DuVernay's fantasy adventure film has barely passed the $100 million mark, only just recouping its budget, and therefore proving an unfortunate financial failure for the first ever $100 million movie directed by a woman of colour.

Everyone wanted to this one to succeed, but bad marketing, poor word-of-mouth and a ton of competition cuts its legs out almost immediately.

Verdict: By far the worst film in recent months to feature the most talented people in front of and behind the camera, A Wrinkle in Time is a turgid, bloated bore.

Young Storm Reid makes for a fine lead, but the young actor playing her brother is a total dud, and aside from the solid visuals, it never feels like anything more than a hollow, soulless blockbuster.
