Box Office: The low-budget rape-revenge thriller may have grossed just $175,000 at the specialty box office, but strong reviews will likely propel it to great business on VOD.

Verdict: An astonishing feature debut for director Coralie Fargeat, Revenge may be too twisted and grisly for many tastes, but for fans of the genre, it's one of the most tenacious, visceral and unique entries in quite some time.

Fargeat brings a warm-blooded feminist energy to this tale of a woman turning the tables on her male attackers, enlivened by Matilda Lutz's ferocious central performance. Beautifully shot, bloody as hell and darkly humourous, people will be talking about this one for a long time.
