7. The Villainess

Box Office: The South Korean actioner has made almost $9 million from its home country, and will no doubt do relatively well on VOD platforms worldwide.

Verdict: It may not be particularly fascinating from a narrative or character perspective and it's occasionally rough around the edges from a technical perspective, but when The Villainess works, it really, really works.

Jam-packed with ludicrously over-the-top action sequences, this dizzyingly ultra-violent spectacle may not quite be "the new The Raid" as some have overzealously dubbed it, but it still effortlessly wipes the floor with most of Hollywood's recent action flicks.
