Ranking Tom Hardy's Accents From Weird To Really Weird

By Sam Hill /

10. Charles Bronson - Bronson

In Bronson, Tom Hardy's accent is based on that of a real person, and thus is supposed to Cockney - and for the most part it stands as one of his most consistently-realised accents. But then there are the flourishes - the lovely little flourishes - that always make Tom Hardy accents so deliciously weird, and his Bronson accent is no exception to the rule. It's hard to say what, exactly, is "off" about his voice here, but it could be the occasional lapses into other random accents - accents that are not Cockney (including his own regular one). These are brief and few and far between in this particular film, but they make Charles Bronson feel like somebody who is fighting with multiple voices inside his head. Whether Hardy did that on purpose, who knows? Still, the lapses in accent work wonders here.
