Ranking What Was Really The Best Horror Movie Every Year 1990-2021

32. 1990: Jacob's Ladder

Like the majority of the 90s, 1990 itself was a busy year for horror, with such classics as Misery, Child's Play 2 and Flatliners turning up to horrify audiences everywhere.

The best of the year, though, has to be Jacob's Ladder, an hallucinatory horror that follows a Vietnam war vet (Tim Robbins) who starts having these bizarre and violent visions, and must race to figure out what's happening to him.

Confrontational, bloody and distressing, the film is messy but engrossing, and will leave even the most hardened viewer fidgeting with confusion and fear.
