Real life ZODIAC case close to being solved?
New evidence may shed definitive proof on who the real ZODIAC killer was.
The four decade unsolved Zodiac case involving the killings of at least 8 victims in the San Fransisco Bay Area in the 60's and 70's which last year garnered renewed interest after a fascinating film from director David Fincher, may be officially solved in just a matter of days according to reports. The FBI have confirmed to CBS13 that they are now running laboratory tests that may link suspect Jack Tarrance to the killer, given to them by his own stepson Dennis Kaufman, claiming he recently found the black hooded disguise worn by the killer during the 1968 Lake Berryessa attack...

"The identity of the Zodiac Killer is Jack Tarrance. He's my stepfather," says Dennis Kaufman.Kaufman has been obsessed for the whole of this decade with trying to prove his step father was the real killer and not Arthur Leigh Allen (died 1992) who Fincher clearly pointed the finger at in his critically acclaimed film. He claims to have once got his step father to indirectly confess to the killings (which he has on tape apparently) and he became even more convinced the year Tarrance died (2006) when he went through is belongings and found suspicious items such as a bloodied knife. Kaufman also sent them a photo of Tarrance, alongside that of a Zodiac description... Further evidence Kaufman has given to the police include hand-writing comparisons...

Kaufman is convinced that Tarrance killed many more than the eight that he were connected to, including most disturbingly his own mother who he believes was suffocated by Tarrance. The FBI claim they will have their test results in just a matter of days which could finally (but probably won't) solve one of the most famous unsolved cases in American Criminal History. via /Film
