According to Filmstalker, Robin Williams spoke to Edith Bowen on BBC Radio 1 this afternoon stating that he would not be appearing in a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel. After doing a bit of Google research, I've also found a quote from a user on Mrs. Doubtfire 2's IMDB page that Williams apparentaly said on GMTV last Tuesday morning, "It's not happening, they can't write the script". Take that for what you will, but if you add that to his latest comments on Radio 1 then it is likely that it's true. This sequel to the popular 1993 smash hit comedy has died only to be then resurrected more times than Jason Voorhees so I wouldn't call it dead yet but without Williams' involvement, I see no reason for it to continue. Williams is Mrs. Doutbfire, he was the whole frickin' film. I know a lot of people have been turned off by the actor recently (I'm still a fan) but you have to agree his energy and comedic range could not be matched in that film by anybody else. At the end of the day then it's likely that there will be no Mrs. Doubtfire 2 in the future and it's good news from where I'm sitting. The first film was good for it's time but a sequel is unnecessary and sounded for a long time like a cash-in flick to me. source - filmstalker
