5. The Fantastic Supporting Cast
As brilliant as Taron Egerton is in this film, he's undeniably aided by the strong efforts of a diverse ensemble cast.
Especially praise-worthy are Jamie Bell, who plays Elton John's long-time, cool-headed lyricist Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as his ruthless manager and lover John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as his thoroughly unsupportive mother Sheila.
Like any great supporting cast, these turns all bolster - and yes, support - the lead, enhancing his performance and giving him plenty to work opposite.
And much like Bohemian Rhapsody, there's also room for an over-the-top record producer character, with Stephen Graham playing Dick James to irascible perfection.
Egerton may rightly win the lion's share of the plaudits, but everyone's giving it their all here.
