It's the seventh in the franchise. Seventh.

2015 is the year of the septquel. Furious 7 is the highest grossing film of the year thus far and Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the most anticipated upcoming movie bar none. But there's another seventh movie in a long-standing franchise nobody expected to last this long that's also going to be hitting screen before January 2016 - Creed. The spinoff/sequel to Rocky has been chugging away in the background for a while now, with a few pictures released showing Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo and Sylvester Stallone reprising his most iconic role (Judge Dredd aside, of course). Now a full trailer's been released and it looks pretty awesome. Ryan Coogler's film is shaping up to a be an authentic boxing drama that just happens to be set within the world of the earlier films - Rocky is a supporting character and the key motivation for Creed is the spectre of his father, as opposed to any particular events of the previous films. Check out the trailer below. The Rocky franchise has simply refused to stay down - every time it looks to over (whether by misfires or films that actually end the narrative), something new and somewhat exciting comes along. If this is played right, this could be the start of a whole new run films. And if it's not, at least one looks alright.Creed is out on 25th November.
