Pike has a small but memorable role in Edgar Wright's concluding entry in the Cornetto trilogy, playing Sam, the sister of Oliver (Martin Freeman), who has been the object of both Gary (Simon Pegg) and Steven's (Paddy Considine) affections ever since they were youngsters. At first, it might seem that Pike's single goal is simply to play "the hot girl who can't stand the slob", and over the course of the movie, protagonist Gary will win her over, right? Wrong: Sam has a little more to her than that, constantly rebuffing Gary and, at the end of the movie, actually ending up with the more affable Steven instead. It's far from Pike's most demanding role, but she brings plenty of attitude to her dialogues with the lads, and of course, is crucial in helping them escape from Newton Haven just as it explodes.
