10. Brie Larson Is Playing Captain Marvel

The Announcement: Marvel finally confirm the recent rumour that Brie Larson is set to play Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel for her upcoming 2019 solo movie.

Given Larson's obvious acting talent and how closely she resembles her comic book counterpart, this would pretty much be dream casting for the character.

How Likely Is It?: Considering that Variety first dropped the news back in early June touting her as the frontrunner, it seems incredibly likely that it's both true and will be revealed at Comic-Con.

There's definitely an outside possibility that it will instead be randomly announced post-Con, as Marvel Studios may prefer to focus their energy on promoting the more pressing films on their slate for now; with the movie being released three years from now there's certainly no rush to make the announcement.

Still, given how Captain Marvel will be the studio's first female-led superhero movie, they will want to milk the good PR for all it's worth, so why wait? 7/10
