12. The Sydney Opera House = Secret Battle Station

In one of the movie's more inspired moments, it's revealed that the Sydney Opera House, where the Sharknado Sisters are holed up, isn't merely an opera house, but an actual battle station.

With the press of a button, Olivia Newton-John is able to turn the iconic building into a gigantic weapon, complete with defensive structures ready to fend off a sharknado assault. An Aussie news reporter then snarkily remarks, "And I thought it was just another piece of overrated architecture."

To the film's credit, the CGI is actually surprisingly not-awful as the opera house transforms, and it's certainly much cooler than the building just being another monument that's immediately ripped apart.
