Singer's WWII drama gets title

By Matt Holmes /

Bryan Singer's WWII ensemble drama starring Tom Cruise will be titled Valkyrie. The movie is set to focus on the true story of German officer....
Count Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, the ringleader of the failed "July Plot" that attempted to kill Adolf Hitler.
Cruise will be playing the German officer in a role that is nothing like anything he has ever done before. That's not to say he can't do it.... he's one of my favourite actors on the planet and is surely one of the most versatile. Singer speaking to Variety, explained his reasons for casting Cruise...
"I admit in the back of my mind I always thought Tom would be a great fit for this role, beyond his physical resemblance. We met a few times about production and my desire to offer the part to him crystallized."
Cruise really does have a resemblance to Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg. I'm not sure about the title though but I think it's probably because I'm not actually that sure how to pronounce it. Perhaps, once I hear how it's suppose to be said, I might grow to it a little more.... but as it stands I preferred Untitled Bryan Singer/World War II drama. source - filmstalker, ign, variety
