Spider-Man: Far From Home - Nick Fury Impostor Theory EXPLAINED

Now with NEW evidence...!

When Sony and Marvel Studios debuted the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming's first sequel, Far From Home, there were inevitably lots of questions thrown out by the few minutes of footage. Firstly, how come nobody seems to be mentioning the fact that Spider-Man is currently still dead after the events of Avengers: Infinity War?

That was all answered in the second trailer after Endgame's release and the announcement of the multiverse in the wake of Thanos' snap. The story, of course, is that Mysterio comes from another world, having come through a tear in space created by the snap. He still appears to be a hero, but that hasn't stopped pretty much everyone suspecting that he's the bad guy in disguise. Or at least that he's not being entirely truthful.

So what if the trailer is full of misdirection? And what if there's more to another character than initially seemed.

What if Mysterio's mastery of illusion extends, in a deliciously meta way, to the trailer that introduces him? What if this trailer isn't as spoilerific as it might seem and what we're actually seeing is no more than part of the story, with the third act completely missing from the teaser?

And what about an even bigger revelation linked to the confusion over not one but several characters we know to have died at the end of Infinity War turning up in this trailer? What if the character presenting himself as Nick Fury is not who he seems? What if he's an impostor?

This wouldn't be the first time Marvel had thrown in some curve-balls, as Infinity War's trailers were dotted with fake footage and misdirection - which goes hand in hand with the rumours that the Endgame production was full of fake filming, false scripts and lots of things consciously designed to throw off anyone brave enough to snoop on set. And it's also important to note that we're on the verge of a major thread on identity theft happening in the MCU...

Could Far From Home have an important narrative thread that feeds into that same idea?
