2. Mysterio
He's not in the trailer a great deal and when he is, it's pretty obvious what's going on with the character, but there's no getting around the fact that Mysterio looks brilliant.
Even knowing what his motivations are likely to be - fame-hunger predominantly - the opportunity to see Jake Gyllenhaal playing someone so duplicitous and self-serving is just delicious. And even with a fairly silly costume from the comics, he looks the absolute business here (as the trailer rightly describes him, he looks like a cross between Iron Man and Thor).
The effects work that's gone into his presentation is also great and the best thing is that they don't seem to have toned him down from the comics. He rides magical clouds, he wears a flamboyant suit... He IS Mysterio.
And rather nicely, the effects also suggest the source of his powers: don't those conjuring symbols he projects look an awful lot like something Doctor Strange might wield while performing magic? Could this provide a link between Mysterio and the source of Doctor Strange's powers too?
