Spider-Man: Homecoming - 10 New Things We've Learned (Aug 19th)

10. The Tinkerer

We already sort of "know" that Michael Keaton is playing the Vulture in Homecoming - though there hasn't actually been a confirmation of that fact just yet. What has been confirmed however is that Orange Is The New Black's Michael Chernus will be playing secondary villain The Tinkerer.

In the comics, Tinkerer has worked with Vulture a couple of times - forcibly in the first instance and as his employer in the Ultimate universe at one stage. It seems he'll be at least partly comical in Homecoming, since Chernus has been hired.

Given that we know that Vulture will be a tech-based character, it makes sense that Tinkerer would be the genius behind the suit. Hopefully he'll take on more of a cross-movie recurring role, rather than just being another villain to throw in against Spider-Man, to avoid Too Many Villains syndrome again.

Chernus actually played a geeky, tech-loving character in Men In Black III. He's the son of the inventor of the time travelling device J uses to jump back in time to save the world.
