The new trailer reveals that, in some way, Tony Stark is responsible for the creation of Vulture, and he's the reason Spider-Man is gonna be battling him in this movie.

Even though this is Spider-Man's movie, it makes a lot of sense given the recent history of the MCU, because - as noted above - pretty much everything is Tony's fault.
