4. Action Sequences

Spider-Man 2 is full of iconic action sequences, specifically the train set-piece which so brilliantly demonstrates the physical toll Spidey's "job" can take, not to mention the bank fight, and of course, the final battle against Doc Ock.

Homecoming's action feels a little more conventional for the superhero genre: the Washington Monument sequence, the Staten Island Ferry and the plane finale are all competently-assembled sequences, though lack the visceral appeal to really make them truly memorable or impactful.

Winner: Spider-Man 2 and it's not even close. The action has aged incredibly well, has real weight to it and has endured for well over a decade. It's hard to imagine many still talking about Homecoming's action in another 15 years.
