13. Michael Keaton Is Playing The Vulture

Though it hasn't been confirmed by anyone officially linked to the project - or by Michael Keaton himself, Deadline have seemingly taken it upon themselves to say publicly that Keaton is playing The Vulture in Homecoming.

This is somewhat at odds with the "old rumours" mentioned by Birth Movie Death that the villain was going to be a "non-main" attraction (and probably the star of an opening arc set-piece that Marvel are known to favour). But Keaton does seem to fit the bill.

Rating: 8/10

It makes a lot of sense: the Vulture might not be classed in the same breath as the likes of Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus as "big" Spidey villains, but he was Spidey's first, and that could be important here.

There's also something quite magnificent in the juxtaposition of Spider-Man's youth and Vulture's age, which would follow on from the tonal comedy of Civil War's airport sequence. So it wouldn't at all be surprising.
