it would be a pretty big swerve for Marvel to introduce a supernatural element to the MCU, even though we're going to see a turn to the cosmic side with Doctor Strange.

In that respect, starting the Spider-Man MCU arc with a vampire as the main villain would be ludicrous, no matter how many fans are asking for something wildly different.

There's no denying Morbius' appeal (and the appeal of a comic book horror movie, as already established), but he's just too different for Kevin Feige's vision for the MCU. And it's probably too much to expect such a conscious exploration of death as a theme.
