5. A Sequel-Bait Jump Scare - The Nun

Though this might not seem like a particularly bold prediction, it's important to remember that the Conjuring universe movies have largely steered away from generic "gotcha!" jump scare endings.

Instead, they've toyed with audiences expecting a final fright, only to end in weirdly understated, calm fashion, which is exactly why the Conjuring 2 spin-off The Nun will probably buck that trend.

After four movies, audiences have been lulled into a false sense of security and are expecting another quiet, composed ending, so the last-minute reappearance of The Nun would catch just about everyone off-guard.

As lame as these jump scare endings usually are, this would actually be a rare instance of it being cleverly employed to subversive effect.
