8. Darth Vader & Son By Jeffrey Brown

True, Jeffrey Brown is a semi well known indie comic creator, this book may be officially licensed, and he got paid to do it, but I had to include it anyway. The reason? Jeffrey Brown did this as a labour of love because he is a life long Star Wars fan. He probably would have done it for free if asked. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but living in Chicago, Jeffrey left his day job to pursue comics after graduating from the School of the Art Institute. His first graphic novel, Clumsy, was actually his MFA thesis! The award winning cartoonist has published numerous comics over the years, through many different publishers, magazines, and anthologies.

This book is perfect for kids, or adults who still embrace the kid inside. I mean, look at all the "awwwwws". Whether Darth Vader is taking Luke to the zoo, taking him trick-or-treating, or making him breakfast, it goes to show that had his kids not been taken away and hidden, he could have been a great father. Okay, not really, it is after all just a silly parody. The book is full of inside jokes that every Star Wars fan will love.
