6. Sillof's Workshop Custom Action Figures

There are plenty of people out there in the world making custom action figures. It has become quite a big section of geekdom in recent years. Many make them for sale or commission, some just for their own collection, and most are quite well thought out and made. Some of my favorite work, mostly with the Star Wars universe, is by Sillof's Workshop. The creations of a high school history teacher, real name Jamie Follis, these figures are not what you'd expect. Or maybe they are. Taking his inspiration from the past, the future, and wherever else tickles his fancy, Sillof re-envisions Star Wars characters, among others, in incredibly creative ways. Everything from Samurai Wars to Steampunk, the Wild West to 1930s Sci-fi Serials, Neo Noir to Medieval Times, his attention to detail is astounding. He has created a back story for many of these "lines", using his history background to make them feel almost real. He has been creating custom action figures and props since he was a young boy, and it shows.
