2. The Full Scale Millenium Falcon Project

Yep, you read that right. Chris Lee and his small team are building a 1:1 scale ESB/ANH hybrid Millennium Falcon on a secluded 88 acre tract of wooded land just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. This isn't Chris' first and only tie to Star Wars, as he is one of the 61 original members of the 501st Legion of Imperial Stormtroopers. The team consists of project leader Chris Lee; Leah DAndrea Public Relations, Set Detailing, Upholstery; Stinson Lenz 3D Modeling, Interior/Exterior Set Consolidation; Greg Dietrich Cockpit Console, Interior, and Quad Gun Construction; Brian Thompson Main Hold Nav Computer Construction; Roger Lee General Contracting; and Glenn Baumann Volvo Panels. See what I mean? This entire build is being worked on by only seven very dedicated and hardworking people! The eventual 114 foot craft is mostly being funded out of pocket, but they are open to donations of materials, services, and labor. Using the DK Ultimate Collection blueprints as their guide, everything from concrete to resin, steel to fibreglass, and everything in-between is being utilized to bring the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy to larger than life. They've even used 3D printing to recreate console parts. Project completion is obviously many years from now, as the process is slow going, but the small amount they have finished so far looks fantastic! It won't make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, or outrun any Imperial starships, but it will no doubt be a must see fan destination once complete.
