The bane of the Star Wars universe? Hardly. When the idea of episodes I-III were but a dream the Ewoks were crucified by the fans as the moment the Star Wars saga came crashing down. Even now here's still a little hate out there; how a band of teddy bears took down a crack unit of the Emperor's best soldiers is baffling, particularly when we learned the original plan was to visit Chewbacca's home planet of Kashyyyk. Wookies ripping off stormtroopers' arms? Now that's more like it. But Kashyyyk finally made an appearance in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith and on reflection, the forest moon of Endor wasn't as bad as we all think. For one thing, there is Wicket, the Ewok who saves Leia, demonstrates boundless amounts of courage in taking on Imperial forces and helps our heroes to win the battle. If they hadn't met Wicket and been introduced to his kin, Han and Leia might never have had the chance to take down the shield generator protecting the Death Star, allowing Lando and the Millenium Falcon to blow it up. Wicket is a hero: he's brave, resourceful and he's cute, and as far as cinematic teddy bears goes, he's one of the best.
