Obi-Wan Kenobi is a smooth old operator: while Luke, Leia, Chewie and Han are attempting to shoot their way out of the Death Star, he manages to glide through on his own mission without ever being noticed by the Empire’s crack squad of faceless, gun-toting goons.

Our first introduction to his elegant knack for Stormtrooper subterfuge was, memorably, back on Tatooine. It’s fair to say that many an Alec Guinness impersonator has had a crack at “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for” in their time. His subsequent explanation to Luke is also pure Star Wars gold: “The Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.”
