A cocky Corellian hot shot pilot, flying a totally cool ship that he claims to be the fastest in the galaxy. A mercenary for hire that the Rebels employ to fight for them even though he has no desire to join the growing Rebellion. Clearly, thats Han Solo, right? Wrong. Dash Rendar first appeared in the novel and video game Shadows Of The Empire and, yes, quickly drew parallels to Solo. He, along with his ship The Outrider, played a very key role in many of the battles the Rebels faced during the timeframe surrounding The Empire Strikes Back. Initially being trapped on planet while delivering supplies to the Rebels, he was forced to fight in The Battle of Hoth. From there he was hired by Lando Calrissian to locate and rescue Han from Boba Fett. Eventually, in the battle with Prince Xixor, Rendar sacrificed himself to save the others and died in the attempt. But he didnt really die because he never really existed.
