Theres a wonder and an awe to how this tiny little fella became an all-powerful Jedi. But some things are better left to the imagination, to give someone an air of mystery that also lends him power. Vader is the key comparison. I dont recall watching A New Hope and thinking OK, the villain is good, but how did he get like that? I just wanted more of that brilliant character, especially when the explanation was eventually put together so clumsily in the prequels. I dont care why he walks with a stick, why his ears are so big, whether his mother was lime green or not, hes fine as he is thanks a shamanic guru with a funny way of talking.
