Easily the best part of The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul fascinated fans with both his appearance and his incredible fighting style. With his tattooed visage he looked like something straight out of a nightmare. And when he brandished that double sided lightsaber and handled it with precision and ease, all bets were off - this guy was badass. His screen time was extremely limited, due in large part to, uh, being sliced in half. What a shame. Star Wars fans hadn't seen a character that insanely cool since Boba Fett tap danced his way through the lamentable Star Wars Holiday Special. His demise at the hands of Obi Wan left some people saying that George Lucas killed off the character entirely too soon. For that reason alone fans deserve to see a movie detailing his upbringing, early years and how exactly he came to be Palpatine's first apprentice. People need to know how he came to fashion that duel lightsaber and it's absolutely imperative to find out how the man pulls a turtleneck over his head without totally ruining it.
