The Star Wars films are home to some of the most iconic spaceships in the history of science fiction stories.

Some vehicles, like the Millennium Falcon and the X-Wing, have become as famous and beloved as the characters who piloted them. The sequel trilogy of Star Wars movies between 2015 and 2019 reintroduced iconic ships from the original and prequel trilogies, while introducing some all-new space vessels. While the villainous First Order’s flagship Supremacy isn’t as well-known as its lesser Star Destroyer counterparts, it is much, much more powerful.

Appearing in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Supremacy served as both headquarters and battleship for the First Order as they hunted down General Leia Organa and the remaining Resistance forces aboard fleeing Star Cruiser ships. The Supremacy is ripped in half when Vice Admiral Holdo carries out a daring sacrificial attack on the ship, as she sent a Resistance vessel into hyperspace – tearing a path directly through the Supremacy. Following the attack, Kylo Ren ordered the Supremacy to be scuttled after he kills Snoke and becomes the new Supreme Leader.

While the Supremacy didn’t get much airtime across the saga, there’s a lot to learn about the First Order’s ship. On that front, here’s ten things you need to know about the Supremacy.

10. It Made The Star Destroyer Ships Look TINY By Comparison

The Supremacy was a gigantic warship built on an unprecedented scale. Classed as a Mega-Destroyer and constructed in secrecy deep within in the Unknown Regions, the Supremacy served the First Order and Supreme Leader Snoke as both battleship and mobile command centre.

Measuring in at a mind-blowing 60,543 meters (198,631 feet) in width and 13,234 meters (43,437 feet) in length, it’s no wonder that the Supremacy needed its very own droid tram system to transport raw materials, supplies, and consumables across the ship.

In terms of height, the Supremacy clocks in with a towering 3,975 meters (13,043 feet) – meaning Supreme Leader Snoke could stand atop 1,863 of his clones (at 7-feet tall each) to go from top to bottom of the ship. The Supremacy was so ginormous, that eight huge Star Destroyer ships could dock at once for refuelling and stocking up on supplies, with six docking externally and two internally, entering from the Supremacy’s underside.

While speculation and rumours about the First Order’s flagship vessel spread throughout the galaxy, nothing could come close to the harrowing true scale of the Supremacy – spreading fear among the remaining heroes of the Resistance.
