These ginormous lenses will be used to capture, by the looks of some concept art, at least one big battle involving everything from spaceships to foot soldiers. Its of a muddy, foggy and damp planet. Rebel spaceships are flying low, as the brave men and women of their Alliance charge forward into the fog towards presumably legions of Stormtroopers armed with heavy artillery. This imagery somewhat recalls the D-Day scene from Saving Private Ryan and the brutal depiction of war that it showed. Bullets to the head, loss of hearing, blood mixed with mud. Without a single Jedi on hand to help out, this is what the grittier side of the galactic civil war looks like. Its not entirely clear exactly when this battle will slot into the movie, although it's a fair assumption it'll be the big battle teased in the opening crawl of Episode IV, where the Rebels won their first victory against the Empire by striking from a hidden base. That battle would surely be the last big conflict of the movie. Itll either be that, or an earlier scuffle that didnt go so well. Only time will tell, but for now the concept art is enough to pique fan interest. And few would say no to some brutal, bloody battles in Star Wars.
