Star Wars: 10 Times Obi-Wan Kenobi Broke His Own Rules
10. Telling Leia About Her Parents
Throughout the Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the young Princess Leia and the older Obi-Wan go on an adventure across a galaxy that is teaming with villainous Stormtroopers and Inquisitors, as they try to safely return home while evading capture. Despite the dangers and friends they meet along the way, they build a strong connection as he slowly embraces his responsibilities as a Jedi once more.
In the finale, before he returns to his duties on Tatooine, Kenobi and Leia have one last conversation as he tells her of the beautiful qualities that she inherited from her parents, who meant so much to him during his years as a Jedi knight. On a touching note, it not also set up their reunion in the film, A New Hope, but brought closure to both their arcs in the series as Obi-Wan confronts his past and Leia discovers more about herself.
Despite giving fans more backstory as to how she would know him in A New Hope, and call for his aid, this also goes against his own sworn duties to stay hidden to watch over and protect Luke Skywalker, Leia's twin brother. While she may not know about his existence, her secret message to Obi-Wan would put him and other people in grave danger. And all because Obi-Wan just couldn't resist saying no to such a sweet face.
