Star Wars: 4 Things We Want To See At A Jedi Wedding

By JG Moore /

1. John Williams Music

When two people tie the knot under the banner of the Jedi, appropriate music is crucial. Especially as the best way to improve any wedding is to add some John Williams music. Whether it€™s live or recorded is up to the discretion of the happy couple but it should have a place at some point. For starters: forget having the Wedding March at the ceremony. For the wedding of a true Jedi, the only real option is the Throne Room Theme from the climax of A New Hope. It€™s a truly stirring piece of music that I€™ve always felt would fit the occasion of a wedding very well. Also, university graduations but that€™s another matter. Post-ceremony, the Parade Theme from The Phantom Menace might work well for leaving the church. Or Jedi Temple as the case may be. As for the reception, Love Across The Stars would be a great choice to have played during the speeches from the groom, best man, and father of the bride. It was the only good thing about Attack Of The Clones€™ romance plot and is a very evocative piece of music. And as for when everyone€™s getting drunk and dancing like idiots (You know you are), there€™s a plethora of great party music to choose from including Lapti Nek, Yub Nub (Both from Return Of The Jedi although Lapti Nek was composed by John Williams' son) and the now legendary Cantina music. Also, if you€™re feeling adventurous, try playing Jedi Rocks (despite it not being a John Williams song) as well but be warned: if there are any old school Star Wars fans at your wedding, this may lead to a clash of Lightsabers. And if you want to make the wedding night go with a proverbial bang as well as a literal one, I€™d suggest Duel Of The Fates from The Phantom Menace. Finally, if it comes to Jedi divorce proceedings, I'd suggest Anakin€™s Betrayal. Though if you really want to take a dig at your estranged spouse, play the Imperial March when they arrive to sign the divorce papers. What would you want from a Jedi Wedding? Leave a comment€
