Star Wars: 5 Reasons A Yoda Spin-Off Is A Bad Idea

4. Yoda Is Best In Small Doses

If somebody told me that they thought Yoda was annoying, I'd completely understand where they were coming from. "Why does he speak like that? What's the point?" might come a question from a non-Star Wars fan. And though we can probably assume that, um, English (or the Star Wars equivalent) isn't Yoda's first language, there's enough oddball quirk there that a non-Star Wars fan might wonder what all the fuss is about. Even for fans, though, the idea of a full-on Yoda movie is kind of terrifying. Remember when we saw the little guy take on Count Dooku in a crazy lightsaber duel? At first that seemed like the lightsaber battle we'd all been waiting for, and everybody was transfixed, like, "Oh-my-God, Yoda's fighting!", only to later kind of regret that we ever saw such a thing take place. It just seemed kind of... fanboy-ish. That's to say, Yoda is a character destined to be in the background - he offers advice and parts wisdom, and that's why he exists. Having him at the forefront of any story seems like a big mistake.
