Its been a long time since Ive read the X-Wing series of books. They were among some of the first that I had read as a teenager when first exploring the Star Wars EU. These books introduced us to a lot of Star Wars EU characters that I think would really translate well into live action. When talk of a Star Wars small screen or TV show was in the works, I had hopes that the X-Wing series could be a possible setting. There is such a multitude of stories and great diverse characters that could have been presented to us. The bulk of these books take place roughly 2-3 years after Return of Jedi and focuses on the continuing struggles against the Empire. It terms of EU, its important to remember that after the death of the Emperor and the destruction of the second Death Star, the Empire was still ruling the galaxy. We get a lot of characters that are minor or supporting in the movies, mainly Wedge Antilles, that become main staples in these books. We also get a lot of characters that we see again in terms of EU in later books. The capstone event that would be great to see: The retaking of Coruscant. We see the Empire take control in Episode III, I feel it is important to see the Rebels / New Republic take it back. This is epic in the novels and I remember being hooked as a kid reading this. Likelihood of being a film: 6, perhaps some elements from these.
