Star Wars Episode 8: Mark Hamill Says Dialogue Is Better Than 'May The Force Be With You'
Maybe this means he'll actually speak in this one.
Star Wars Celebration Europe is taking place this weekend, and the first big panel was An Hour with Mark Hamill.
Hamill was reportedly on top form, as you'd expect from a man with the strongest Twitter game around, and was cracking dad jokes, and opening up about his time across the entire saga.
Understandably not much was revealed about the upcoming Episode VIII, for which Hamill recently wrapped filming, with all involved keen to keep details as secret as possible (after all, loose lips sink starships). One thing he did talk about, though, was the dialogue, and he was extremely heavy on the praise.
While George Lucas could infamously type this sh*t but not say it, apparently Rian Johnson doesn't have that problem, with Hamill saying that what he's written is incredible, and destined to enter the pantheon of great Star Wars quotes:
“I was looping Episode VIII the other day, and there’s dialogue there that made me think ‘I can already see this on a t-shirt.’ Forget about ‘May the Force be with you,’ there are catchphrases in there you won’t believe.”
There's praise, and then there's saying it's better than one of the most iconic and oft-repeated quotes in movie history. December 2017 can't come soon enough (though thankfully we've got Rogue One to help ease the pain).
