9. Rey Is The Chosen One

All of this talk about discovering who Rey's parents are is pointless, she's actually the Chosen One, like Anakin Skywalker before her.

The big implication comes thanks to a leak from Stormtrooper Larry (via ComicBookMovie) who revealed that there is a scene between Rey and Luke in which he teaches her the history of the Force and strongly implies she is the reincarnation of the founder of the Jedi Order.

That much will presumably be confirmed when Rey feels a great swell in her power in the presence of a great magical tree on Ahch-To (the same site of the original Force awakening).

Rating: 8/10

The tree element has been all but confirmed by set photos, which would seemingly corroborate Luke teaching Rey about the history of the Force at least.

And in terms of narrative rhyming, having an orphan on a sandy planet seeking to reveal her place in the universe, encountering a Jedi master and discovering she is the Chosen One is very poetic.
