Hello, what have we here? Oh, just some confirmation that Billy Dee Williams is indeed returning to a galaxy far, far away.

THR have had it confirmed from their sources that Williams is set to be in a Star Wars movie for the first time since 1983's Return of the Jedi, with the actor reprising his role as Lando Calrissian in next year's still untitled Episode IX.

The past month or so has seen a number of rumours that he'd return, after he started getting back into shape and cancelled a convention appearance due to scheduling conflicts, and now they've proved to be true.

Lando coming back does make a lot of sense: many fans have been clamouring for his return for some time anyway, and with his old Rebel pals Han and Luke dead, and Carrie Fisher's passing meaning there's no Leia in the movie, the movie could do with an extra touch of Original Trilogy guidance. It's almost certain that we'll see him coming in to help lead the Resistance as they prepare for a final showdown with the First Order, and should be nailed on that we'll see him piloting the Millennium Falcon (which we now know hosts his former droid partner/lover L3-37) once again.

Aside from Williams, it was also revealed recently that Keri Russell was joining the cast too, alongside returnees such as Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac.
