Star Wars: Liam Neeson Is Open To Returning

"Anything is possible..."

If Hollywood ever tires of Liam Neeson making angry fighty man movies, he'd be open to returning to the Star Wars universe for another go as master Qui-Gon Jinn.

That's according to Yahoo Movies UK, who spoke to the actor on the publicity tour for The Commuter - another of his Taken period action movies - and interpreted his comments about starring in a spin-off as him being open to it.

Disney are well established as looking at the prospect of more spin-off and Anthology movies to expand the Star Wars universe, and if a Jabba The Hutt movie is genuinely on the table there's no saying what else they're considering. Would a movie charting Qui-Gon's life pre-Episode One really be that odd? Or maybe he'd just be earmarked to return as a Force Ghost in the mooted Obi-Wan movie?

Either way, his responses to the question of a return were vague enough to seem positive:

“This is the first time I’m hearing of this. No one’s been in touch with me. I know in the Star Wars world anything is possible... In the first one, The Phantom Menace, I died but we know, you know, Jedis come back and stuff but no one’s been in touch. We’ll see.”

We've seen Force Ghost cameos before of course, so that wouldn't be out of the realms of logic. But we probably have to wait and see how well Solo does at the box office to see whether more spin-offs in the same vein actually happen.
