Star Wars: Rogue One International Trailer Reveals New Detail About Mads Mikkelsen's Character
Plus more Deathtroopers!
Coming hot on the heels of last week's stunning new trailer for Star Wars: Rogue One, we've now got an international trailer that gives us a little bit more footage as well - including a bit of spoilery information about Mads Mikkelsen's character.
While the trailer is mostly cut of footage we've already seen in previous trailers, in particular the one released last week, it contains some more of the nighttime battle on Jedha, and a better look at the incredibly badass Deathtroopers. But it's the passing mention of Mikkelsen's Galen Erso that's most interesting.
With Mon Mothma outlining that the Rebels have received a message about an imminent major weapons test, it's left to Diego Luna's Cassian Andor to reveal the source, telling Jyn:
"The message was sent by your father."
Although it was already known that Galen Erso would have some involvement in the Death Star - likely the scientist responsible for creating it - it's a new reveal that he's the one who sent the message, although Mothma does state they "intercepted" it, meaning he hasn't necessarily started rebelling (though feasibly he could've sent it knowing it would be intercepted).
It's another intriguing layer to Mikkelsen's mysterious character, who has thus far been withheld from all of the trailers, and adds weight to the idea of him being part of the focus of the Rebels' mission.
