5. Another Droid We Were Looking For
There's one member of the Rebel team - Rogue One, as they call themselves - not mentioned previously, and with good reason. K-2SO is, of any of them, the one worthiest of his own mention.
You've probably heard by now that Alan Tudyk's motion-captured, reprogrammed Imperial droid steals the show and, in the wise words of Han Solo, it's true. All of it.
Kaytoo is simply an absolute delight to watch. In essence, he's a take on C-3PO in much the same way BB-8 was a riff on R2-D2. But whereas there's some debate about which little astromech you prefer, there isn't likely to be any with these walking globs of grease. Kaytoo has the some struggles to understand the humans around him, but whereas Threepio could come off as annoying, the new droid on the block is hilarious.
Tudyk's delivery nails the sarcasm, with pitch-perfect timing and the sort of wit we've come to expect from the actor. He gets the best lines and provides the most comic relief, but he's also an essential part of the rebellion, and shows his usefulness, resourcefulness, and kicks a lot of ass.
